Transitional style is a marriage of traditional and contemporary furniture, finishes, materials and fabrics equating to a classic, timeless design. Furniture lines are simple yet sophisticated, featuring either straight lines or rounded profiles. It's features are less carving, different materials and solid wood mixed with engineered materials. Designs can come from the Art Deco, Bedimire or Industrial periods of Furniture.

Contemporary style refers to what is popular or used right now.encompasses a range of styles developed in the latter half of the 20th century. Pieces feature softened and rounded lines as opposed to the stark lines seen in modern design. This furniture is ideal for interiors that contain neutral elements and bold color, and they focus on the basics of line, shape and form. 
Contemporary design can be very eclectic and contemporary furniture is marked by modern and trendy forms, clean lines and simplistic details. Chair arms and legs are simple, either squared or rounded. Upholstery fabrics are usually a solid color or have a subtle pattern. Most contemporary furniture has little to no carvings, or embellishments. Many of the sofas are lower to the ground and feature squared arms and straight backs.
